kicking summertime in the face
Hi friends. It has been a busy summer for me. Key in my distractions: Professor Romance! That’s right, friends, he is visiting me for the whole summer. who can sit still in a computer lab when you have the Professor in your presence? Not I.
So let’s catch up!
My first year of grad school is over. I was accepted into a regional exhibition and have been applying to exhibitions here and there, but I have been taking a break from the studio. I am planning to get back to work soon, but it has been a nice to get away for a while. I recently became the co-director of an art and performance space. If you are interested in having an exhibition or concert, I am the lady to talk to. I have so many creative friends…
What else has been done with my summer? Lots of barbeques and outdoor expeditions. Kayaking, quarry exploring, national park hiking, ancient cemetery exploration, food festivals. Tonight we will bbq on a rooftop with some friends.
We took a road trip to visit our friends at teenage fashion show. Fabulous fun was had by all, but especially Bartelby:

Come visit the Mystery/Spacebeer compound. No one has visited us for a long time. A long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long time. Is it because we are too sexy? Or is it because we are jerks? Remember the beer? The comic books? The crippling heat? I'm not as fat as I was then, but I'm twice as stupid. Isn't that worth a visit? Come on, Ninja/Passion supergroup. Come on.
I'm thinking its because we are hot sexy jerks. But shouldn't that get us more visitors?
i am very much in favor of a revisitation of the sexy jerk compound. one of my favorite photos of dan is from that trip we took many summers ago. drinking a beer while reading a comic book and shaving. to me that epitomizes the greatness of that visit. dan tells me the reason that we haven't visited again is that you live on the fucking moon. this is an astute statement. we would like to visit lady gorilla and her rage-filled robusband this summer. again, astute. we will continue to seek reasonable airfare and you shall continue to prepare the compound for much merrymaking.
